SUMC Nursery School and Kindergarten   REGISTRATION 2011

 

Welcome to our web site overview of Registration for the 2011-12 year! Here’s how it works. 

 REGISTRATION SUMMARY: 

From the website, go to the ENROLLMENT TAB.  

At the bottom are listed 3 types of applications.  

Choose “application with yellow highlights” if you are new to our school.  

Choose “application with blue highlights if you are a former, waiting list 10-11 or church family.  

Please print this on a color printer. 

 Applications will be accepted January 04 and after.. The completed application and registration fee must be mailed or walked in to the preschool office: 3751 Creek Road, Cincinnati OH 45241.

                                                          TO VISIT DURING THE DAY

 To visit in a classroom with children playing and learning, please call us to arrange a day/date that works for you. Most visits are arranged to begin a few minutes after we open in the morning. You may also request to visit in the afternoon. If you are not certain which age group your child will be in next fall: Please call the preschool office at 563-8278. Please note that 4’s and 5’s curricula are all PRE Kindergarten classes and are birth date specific. 

                                                          ABOUT OUR EVENING MEETING

 

JOIN US FOR MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 11 from 7-8 PM 

During the time from 7-8 PM, we will have our Large Motor Room set up and staffed for your children ages 2-6. IF YOU WILL BE USING THIS SERVICE, PLEASE CALL AHEAD TO MAKE CERTAIN OUR STAFFING WILL BE AVAILABLE TO YOUR CHILD. (563-8278) 

This evening meeting will begin with an adult level overview for parents. This will last for about 20 minutes as a large group. At the end of the group meeting, adults will move to classrooms to meet teachers.

This second portion of the presentation will last about 30 minutes. At this time you will hear about curriculum and be able to ask questions of a teacher. 

Please arrive on time for these meetings so that you do not miss anything! 

                        FOR THOSE UNABLE TO VISIT DURING THE DAY or EVENING: 

Please call ahead to borrow a video presentation about your child’s future class. You may have someone else stop by to get this for you if you are unable to come during our regular hours. 

SENDING IN YOUR CHILD’s APPLICATION

 

No matter which way you choose to learn about us, you can bring in or mail in your child’s application. and a check for registration.. The application will receive a random number.Please include at least 3 class choices, in the order you want them, on your child’s application.  

It takes roughly 4 weeks for these checks to be deposited. Please be certain your account will still fund this check one month later. THANK YOU! 

                                                       AFTER YOUR APPLICATION ARRIVES:                                                   

 

January 4-7    After your application arrives, it is opened and dated. All applications received on a given day are treated as a group. At this time, all applications received will be given a random number.

 January 7 and after....     All blue applications (former family, waiting list, church family) received by January 7 will be placed in available openings on January 10 using the random numbers assigned daily as applications were received. The entire group of blue applications will be placed on this date, as long as they are received by this date. These applications are for former families, church families and any families who were on our current year’s waiting list by December 15. 

January 18 begins the new familyplacement time. On this date, all (yellow) new family applications will be placed in available openings. These applications will have been dated and will have already received their random numbers. As explained above, these random numbers are assigned on the date the application arrives along with all other applications received on that date.

 

January 19 and after    All applications, both blue and yellow, will be placed into available openings on a first come, first-served basis. If more than one application arrives for a specific placement on a given date, applications will be randomly sorted to determinewho receives the placement. 

                                           YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR CHILD’S CLASS PLACEMENT

 

Within two weeks of the above dates, a verification will be mailed. This will list your child’s class placement and waiting lists on which your child’s name appears, if applicable.   Please call us ONLY if you HAVE NOT RECEIVED THIS by Feb.1.

If we are  unable to enroll your child, your registration fee check or money order will be returned. In this case, we will also request that you return a $25 waiting list fee to maintain your child’s waiting list placement. This waiting list fee will be due March 2 by 3 PM.
